New Year’s Luck Spell

Select eight or twelve sigils, symbols, or runes that represent good fortune and growth. Set them in a circle, or draw them large enough that you can set the following items inside:

• Blessed water
• Incense
• Green candle
• Tiger’s eye

Hold your palms over the centre of your minature circle, or touch each element in turn as you request the elemental’s blessing to fill your tiger’s eye. Say:

Earth, I ask, infuse this stone with abundance. Luck is mine.
Air, I call, infuse this stone with friendliness. Luck is mine.
Fire, I stir, infuse this stone with regenerative energies. Luck is mine.
Water, I pray, infuse this stone with contentment. Luck is mine.*

*You can add “please” if that’s your jam. I don’t always feel comfortable telling invisible people what to do.

Next, circle the Tiger’s eye nine times sunwise while chanting:

By the symbols, by the signs,
By the runes, the best of times.
Churn the luck, good fortune come,
Divine protection, battles won.
By the sigils, by my will,
By the spirits, we have our fill.
New opportunities, here they come,
Blessed am I, my will is done.

Give thanks and consider leaving an offering. Keep the Tiger’s eye with you or some place you spend a lot of time. If your circle is paper you can use it again next year.
