Returning to Witchcraft

It’s no secret that I plan my entire life, and that includes my evenings. Yeah, I’m over here planning my leisure time or it doesn’t happen, okay? No judging! See, by the time I get to the end of the day, I’m decisioned out. Nothing feels appealing.

But, knowing that action comes before motivation, if I just start I’ll be enjoying myself in no time.

With that said… I have many interests I never engage in. I get sad about not doing them, but when I finally have time, it seems impossible. Or I’m uninspired. So, I need to make these decisions in advance. If it’s something that takes preparation, I need to put that effort in early in the day. Get out the paints, clean off the desk, find my lighter or whatever.

So I made a plan, and last night was my designated witchcraft night. I miss my craft so hard. I only turn to magick when I’m desperate, and now I’m rusty AF. But, the time came and I didn’t know where to start.

I played video games instead. I don’t want this to happen again.

My crisis of faith started over a year ago and now it’s time to figure out where I stand, what I believe, and how I want to practice going forth. I know I DO want to practice, so that’s something.

Just now, I stopped and examined my barriers, and they are this:

  • Not knowing what exactly I believe
  • Not really NEEDING spellcraft (Privilege, I know)
  • Not having enough privacy
  • Letting a lack of energy steal my joy.

Well one of those I can fix right away.

There! I just organised an evening each week where Deer Heart will go out and do one of his hobbies so I can have space and privacy to do big rituals again. Cause I miss the rituals the most.

Whilst I will practice alone, I want to put mysef in spaces where other witches hang out, too. Being around community is so important.

Feels good to know when my next ritual will be!

Anyway I hope sharing my process will help you get unstuck too if you need it.
